Rwanda, 2024

Find your Light was born in Rwanda as a photography workshop designed to explore light, perception, and the power of self-expression through images.
I curated the project together with Okapia Onlus whom produced it, with the creative support of Abatanguha Dance Company, and in collaboration with the community of Kubasha Crew.
For three months, I worked with a group of young people with disabilities, guiding them through a journey of technical learning and personal discovery, where photography became a shared language — a way to tell their stories and to see themselves anew.

The project grew from a desire to use photography not only as an artistic medium but as a tool for inclusion and awareness. Each meeting became an exercise in mutual trust — learning to observe reality, to take time, to listen to light and to others.
Through their cameras, the students learned to recognize space, to see beauty in everyday gestures, and to shape narratives that begin within themselves yet speak universally.

Find Your Light is the title of the exhibition that concluded this journey.
In those photographs lives the story of a community that found the courage to be seen and the strength to build — together — a new way of looking at the world.
Each image tells of an encounter, an exchange of gazes, a moment of discovery.
When I look at them now, I still see their light — the one that comes from determination, curiosity, and openness toward others.

For me, Find Your Light was much more than an educational project: it was a lesson in trust, time, and listening.
It reminded me that photography is not only about representation — it is about giving back: light, dignity, and voice.
And that creativity, when it becomes collective, has the power to change the way we relate to the world and to ourselves.
